Itinerary
Day 1: GUWAHATI-SHILLONG
Welcome to North-east. Meet with our representative at Lokpriya Gopinatah Bordoloi international airport at Guwahati. Directly proceed to Shillong, Shillong is also called \'Scotland of the East\". Cethadrel Church: The Cathedral Church of Mary Help of Christians is the principal place of worship of the over 3, 00,000 strong Catholics of the Shillong Archdiocese. Lady Hydri Park: Lady Hydari Park, owes its existence to the erstwhile nature loving first lady of the state, Lady Hydari the wife of Governor of Assam (It used to be a big state). Ward’s Lake where you can enjoy boating. Overnight stay at hotel in Shillong.
Day 2: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJI
SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJI After breakfast, proceed to Cherrapunji, the wettest place in the world. There are lots of spectacular view points on the way to Cherrapunji. Shillong Peak: The Shillong peak stands at a whopping 2000mtr above sea level. The peak dedicated to the city is also the highest point in the state. Elephant falls: The Elephant Falls located just outside the Shillong city at a distance of approx 10 kms provides a unique sight wherein the water column carves out its way and surrenders to gravity at two successive locations. The Cherrapunji is a land of wonderful waterfalls and beautiful valleys. Some of the Main Attractions are the Ramakrishna Mission Museum, First Presbyterian Church, Mawsmai Fall, Nohkalikai Falls, and Eco Park etc. Mawsmai caves near Cherrapunji is an experience in itself, the limestone caves are well lit up. But if you want to thrill yourself more, climb up to the caves hitch are not lit up, they are guaranteed to spook you as one has to crawl their way in. Overnight stay at hotel in Shillong.
Day 3: SHILLONG – MAWLYNNONG
After breakfast visit the cleanest village in India. It is situated 90 Km. From Shillong and besides the picturesque village, offers many interesting sights such as the living Root Bridge and another strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. It is along the Indo-Bangladesh border. This cute and colorful little village is known for its cleanliness. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4: SHILLONG-DAWKI
After breakfast directly proceed to Dawki. Dawki-Tamabil is one of the few road border crossings between India and Bangladesh. It is used mainly for coal transportation to Bangladesh. Some 500 trucks cross the border every day in peak season. Some shared transport is available from Barabazar in Shillong to the border post at Dawki every morning. Buses are also available for the 70 kilometres (43 mi) journey from Shillong. On the other side the Tamabil bus station, 1.5 kilometers (0.93 mi) away, has regular bus service to Sylhet 55 kilometers (34 mi) away. Dawki Bridge is a suspension bridge over the Umngot River. It was constructed in 1932 by the Britishers Evening return back to Shillong. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5: SHILLONG - GUWAHATI
After breakfast visit - Golf Course: Considered to the first 18 hole Golf Course in India the Shillong Golf Club (an altitude of 5200 ft) is any Putters dream come true. The Shillong Golf Course is sometimes equated with \"Glen-eagle Course\" in the United States because of its beauty and unique location. With everlasting memories transfer to Guwahati airport for onward journey.
